The Results
In August 2025, YouGov, on behalf of The Center for Collaborative Democracy, conducted a survey using the Grand Bargain Project WebApp.
Respondents were asked to consider 36 individual reforms from six policy areas and rate them in terms of their importance to their lives.
Respondents were then asked, would they rather the entire Grand Bargain package — the reforms they liked and the ones they didn't – or the country's current direction.
85% of respondents said they preferred telling Congress to start working on this evolving Grand Bargain rather than continuing to leave the future of the country in their hands.

This data was gathered through research commissioned by the Center for Collaborative Democracy and conducted by YouGov.
Research conducted August 22, 2025 - August 29, 2025.
Responses reflect a nationally representative of 1,000 U.S. adults.
The study, which polled a representative sample of 1,000 adults across the U.S., found that the preference for the Grand Bargain crossed;

Even with opposition to individual policies (especially among Republicans), the broad and consistent support indicates voters are willing to accept trade-offs within a package deal valuing the consensus approach despite individual disagreements.

Even with opposition to individual policies, some as high as 28%, these results indicate that voters are willing to accept trade-offs within a package deal — valuing what is best for them and their families over any reform they may object to.
The voice and will of the American people is to have a future in which they can thrive.
We have a consensus to make their aspirations a reality.

Right Issues to Focus On
There is also an overall agreement that the issues we asked people to rate are the right areas to focus on, with an overall agreement of 72%.
We have since added congressional reforms. Early indications are they will have little effect on overall support.
