CENTER FOR COLLABORATIVE DEMOCRACY
Help Shape the Grand Bargain
Help Shape the Grand Bargain
The Grand Bargain will be built—and certainly benefit—from the input of concerned citizens, civic organizations, and professional associations. Deliberative democracy is a key element of piecing together and building widespread support for the Grand Bargain Project.
Workshops
To that end, we are hosting participatory workshops across America to help shape the content of the Grand Bargain. The workshops address seven issues that most Americans are eager to adopt:
-
Greater economic opportunity & growth
-
Schools that enable our kids to reach their potential
-
Effective & affordable healthcare
-
Prudent spending to lower the national debt
-
Dependable, clean & affordable energy
-
A fairer, simpler tax code
-
Congress redirected to resolving problems
What Does the Workshop Involve?
During the workshop, 25 to 30 participants will have the opportunity to discuss, propose, and vote on specific policy proposals within the six topics. Participant feedback from the workshops will be incorporated into the Grand Bargain proposal and help inform further advocacy and organizing efforts to improve the proposed policy package.
The workshops will help build a national movement, eventually pressuring policymakers to acknowledge the urgent need for adopting a Grand Bargain to protect America’s future.

Interested in Hosting a Workshop?
If you or your organization are interested in hosting a workshop, we’ll provide you with a trained facilitator, a toolkit, a facilitation guide, and all necessary collateral materials. We can also offer a 30-minute orientation to the Grand Bargain for your organization’s leadership.
If you need financial support to conduct a workshop, please contact us at: info@ccd-usa.org
As a workshop host, expect to invest 4–6 hours for preparation, hosting, and follow-up. While you don’t need to be affiliated with an organization or group to host a workshop, you are welcome to organize a workshop with members of a particular organization or community you are part of. We’re eager to have diversity in geography (urban, suburban, rural, and different parts of the country), political viewpoints, race, ethnicity, gender, and income.
